How to use

Sun exposure harms the cell’s DNA. This damage builds up over the years and leads to actinic damage. It can take a less severe form with just wrinkles and dark spots or a more severe form with scaly growths and itching, called actinic keratosis (AK) or non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC).

Experts estimate that, for each visible actinic keratosis, there are up to 10 subclinical lesions in the neighbouring area which aren’t yet visible, making up what is known as the cancerization field.The skin may look normal, but the sun has caused changes on the inside that will most probably end up turning into new actinic keratoses.If you have had any actinic keratoses removed, it is very important to treat the whole subclinical cancerization field to prevent new lesions from appearing.
